Well, it’s time for surprises… I am currently in Bangkok Thailand undergoing various tests and surgeries I could never afford in the US.  If you never visited Thailand, I am sharing all my experiences, pictures, and videos on my Facebook page “Join DrStars Sun”.

Very good news from my doctors. All tests including blood, Xrays and ultrasound are negative for prostate cancer. I’m blessed with a long life ahead of me… my other doctor who performed the tympanoplasty also confirmed 💯 successful surgery. I’m on top of the world and since I’m stuck in Bangkok until Jan 9th, 2022 I take that good news as a wonderful Xmas present away from my loved ones but very close to God alone in my hotel room for the next few days.

A few years ago I had colon cancer and to be safe, every five years I must do a colonoscopy. Since I am 72, I also checked my prostate, the ultrasounds, X-rays, and blood work all came negative. This means, God willing, I should be with you for many more years!

But the most important reason for me to do this trip was that; a few years ago, while working in the Marshall Islands,  I stuck my head in an engine compartment trying to start it, and the motor backfired.

The explosion was so loud that it perforated my left eardrum. I just started this great US contract and the pay was phenomenal, thus complaining and losing my job was out of the question! I truly thought it would heal on its own but with time, it got much worse.

Since any damage to the ears will also affect your balance, since then, I experienced a few bad falls. The last one was when I drove for FedEx, fell off a truck, broke my tailbone, and mess up my back and shoulder. 

I was out of work and started PT! To make the situation worse, on my way back home from one of my physical therapy sessions, an idiot rear-ended me and sent me to the emergency room and this new accident did not help my case!

In the process, I messed up my neck, hands, my back, and my shoulder even more. Yes, you do not want to fall when you are an old guy like me! So far, I had surgery on my hip, ablation, and steroid shots in my spine and I am due for another surgery on my shoulder when I come back to the US.  

Yet the insurance is always to find excuses not to pay for anything and following the rear-end accident my neck and hand (thumbs) got also injured. The impact was so violent that; my Mercedes seats airbags were deployed.

I was not expecting the shock and both of my thumbs got stuck in the steering wheel as I was pushed forward to it.  Since then I have been complaining about tinnitus and a new bump on my neck.  I got an injection on my thumb (tricked finger) but the top of my left hand and under my left foot is still totally numb.

The Doctor was wondering about nerves damage and ordered an EMG!  A few days later the report came negative and the Dr. told me it was because of my old age and this had nothing to do with the REA!  I was furious because I never had all those problems before the accident!

 But some doctors seem to care more about their patient’s insurances and since I am a self-pay there is no money to make in this case!

The insurance can and will only act (or not) upon the medical reports only! And if they can avoid paying for anything they will!  Thus I took it upon myself to have the lump on my neck surgically removed in  Bangkok hospital. And since I do not want to fall again and make myself worse, I also decided to undergo a badly needed ear surgery ( tympanoplasty.)

Both surgeries have been performed successfully at a fraction of the price I would have to pay in the US!  Yet Thai doctors are real and concerned pros and want to do regular checkups on their patients. Thus for my own welfare, he is not allowing me to do much or fly back to the States until January 9th, 2022. 

This means I will spend Xmas and New Year away from my loved ones and friends in a hotel room alone! Yet all this will not stop me from offering you my next two SOS to the world deadly windows below!
